Gastronautas – Experiences
Taking our concept to a different dimension
We started by sharing our content with you.
Now we would like to take our relationship one step further. So we are pre-announcing our “Gastronautas Experiences” to build our community and curate some journeys into the heart of Portuguese Gastronomic Culture.
The idea is simple:
• take some of our fellow Gastronautas to an unexpected place.
• Spend the day learning and discussing Portuguese food, wine and culture with like-minded people.
• Eat genuinely, and probably tasty Portuguese food.
• Came back. Hopefully happier and/or more knowledgeable.
We will have 3 levels of Experiences: Raw – No frills; Sauté – Comfortable yet simple; Well Done – Naughty but nice.
Each one with different angles on the experience, catering for different moods. See below.

This is our ‘Anthony Bourdain’ approach: an experience with a very genuine local Portuguese host like a farm, fishermen’s hut, or ‘tasca’.
Don’t expect: aristocratic surroundings;
Do expect: intense smells and simplicity

This is the comfortable middle ground where the places we choose are simple but with, perhaps, a table cloth. The wine will probably be served in tall glasses.
Don’t expect: silver cutlery;
Do expect: friendliness and traditional food

In this Experiences, you can expect a little bit more refinement on the space and on the tableware. In this outings, you will also have both Founders, Filipe and Luís, to share their passion and knowledge with you.
