Notes about my journey

The interest in ceramics started in 2017, after participating in two workshops organized by Fundação Oriente, with the ceramist/trainer Ricardo Lopes, where I acquired the fundamental foundations related to the pottery wheel technique. One of the pieces developed there that aroused my interest was the tea pot.

In July 2021, I also took part in a training session at the Professional Training Center for the Ceramic Industry (CENCAL) in Caldas da Rainha, with Miguel Neto and Alexandra Silva on the formulation of glazes for reduction, where I had the opportunity to acquire new knowledge about Celadon, Shino, Tenmoku and Copper Red glazes.

As training is an important source of knowledge, it is in reading certain authors that I have found inspiration and answers to the doubts that arise.

I am currently developing the first ash glazes. The fact that I live in a rural region facilitates access to this raw material and it is an opportunity to delve deeper into this type of glaze that has surprised me in terms of results.

This internal need to create has motivated me to develop and improve the pieces over the last few years. I believe this is a never-ending process!
